                                                                Uday Kiran


                                                                Uday was raised in Hyderabad, India in a family that put great importance on education.
                                                                His mother was a High School Principal and History teacher and his father a businessman. Uday graduated in Maths from Magadh University, Bodh Gaya and has a Masters, majoring in Maths, from SunRise University, Rajasthan. He gained his Teacher Certificate in 2014. Uday has taught Maths at different secondary schools using a practical approach. He enjoys designing assessments and projects to improve the critical thinking of his students. Uday came to Uganda in 2017 and has been working at Delhi Public School International before joining 7Hills. In his free time Uday loves playing Badminton, volleyball, music and reading thriller books.

                                                                James Pitkeathly

                                                                James is from Brighton, UK, and graduated from Cambridge University with a degree in English Literature. He has worked as a secondary school Teaching Assistant for SEN in England, taught English in Korea, and worked as a teacher trainer for British Council in Tanzania. In the past 6 years in Uganda, James has examined for IELTS, helped establish a community library in Bundibugyo, and founded a learning-centred chocolate company in Kampala – moonbean chocolate. Throughout these pursuits, education has remained close to his heart, and James is thrilled to be back in the classroom doing what he loves – nurturing and inspiring young minds.

                                                                Shruti Gadhia

                                                                An educator and counsellor by profession, Shruti started her teaching journey in India in 2014 and shortly afterwards moved to Kampala in 2017. Shruti completed her bachelors in Genetics in 2010. She later spent a couple of years in the UK where she pursued a masters in cancer research. She has a curious personality and was drawn to the sciences from a young age. Shruti is passionate about understanding young minds and helping them to develop well-rounded abilities. After moving to Uganda, Shruti created a blog site dedicated to spreading awareness about mental health issues and clear the stigma associated with psychological and mental well-being in our society. In her spare time, Shruti enjoys dancing, spending time with her family and friends.

                                                                Grace Nyakato

                                                                Grace has a Bachelor of Science in Education and has been teaching secondary school students for over five years. She attended Gulu University on a full academic scholarship where she majored in Physics and served as a Basketball/ Netball Captain. After graduation she has taught Maths and Physics in both National and International Schools where she has led efforts to expand the curriculum to engage students at different mathematical competencies. She introduced “let me help you” in schools, a programme where students are given an opportunity to teach and help their peers in areas in which they are confident, which in turns builds confidence among themselves. Grace believes that all learners can excel in Mathematics and Sciences. Grace loves to play basketball and netball in her free time and learn new languages for example French and German.

                                                                Benjamin Muganzi

                                                                Benjamin has a Bachelor of Information Technology and Computing degree. He has worked for over 12 years in the ICT sector and 7 of these years have been with International Schools in Uganda.

                                                                He is passionate about Programming and Software development, and also proficient with systems administration. While not working on the computer, Benjamin is into audio production and sports.

                                                                Scott Porter

                                                                Scott is from Colchester, Vermont. He attended Clemson University and received his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. While attending University, he was part of the Debate Team, and qualified for the World Universities Debating Championships twice, in Kuala Lumpur and Thessaloniki. He is passionate about debate and lacrosse, which he played growing up in Vermont. Scott first came to Uganda as a Literacy Specialist with the United States Peace Corps in 2016. Before joining 7 Hills he taught English at a primary school in Kabale district. He spends most of his free time outside of school with his wife and son and enjoys cooking with them.

                                                                Aleksandra kubin

                                                                Aleksandra (Aleks) grew up in the Pacific Northwest in Washington State to Polish parents. When growing up Aleks and her family often travelled, which inspired her interest in learning about the wider world. As well, while in secondary, she was inspired to work in education. These interests led Aleks to attend Western Washington University where she achieved a Bachelors in social studies and a TESOL certificate.  Aleks then took up an offer to join the U.S. Peace Corps to work as a Literacy Specialist. This is what brought Aleks to Uganda in 2015, and she hasn’t left since. While in Uganda Aleks built her teaching experience in primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions within both national and international schools. In her free time Aleks enjoys cooking, yoga, hiking and camping, and reading.

                                                                Mark Talemwa

                                                                Mark is a passionate musician and educator. He believes that everyone has music on the inside that is not defined by the formal descriptions and genres of music. Mark loves experimenting with different styles of music, and this has taught him to appreciate music from diverse cultures.

                                                                Godfrey Kabongo

                                                                Godfrey Kabongo attained Bachelor of Education Degree at University of Bukavu in Democratic Republic of Congo. He also holds a diploma in Pro-FLE (Français Langue Étrangère) CNED Paris, France as well as DALF(Diplôme Approfondi en Langue Française) C1 and DELF(Diplôme d’Etudes de Langue Française) B2 of Ministry of Education of France. He  worked at Ambrosoli International School in Kampala as a MFL/French teacher  and at Alliance Française de Kampala as Professeur vacataire. In his free time he enjoys playing the guitar and is passionate about classical music.

                                                                James Sserwadda

                                                                James is an award winning artist and educator. He received his honors Bachelor degree in Vocational Studies in Art and Design from Kyambogo University and a  Master’s degree in Experimental Art and Film at the Beijing Film Academy. Outside of the academic classroom, James leads numerous art projects expanding across various mediums including sculpture, steam, fabric decoration, painting, and experimental image art and film.

                                                                Elisa Cifuentes Culaciati

                                                                Elisa comes from Santiago, Chile. She graduated from Universidad de Chile with a BA in English Literature and Linguistics, and later continued her studies to get her bachelor’s degree in Education and her certification as a Secondary teacher. She is very interested in learning about different cultures and languages, and her passion as a teacher is to encourage students to enjoy and value diversity. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, doing different crafts and practicing different sports. She played volleyball for different teams while studying and is always open to learning new sports.

                                                                Fredricks Kawesi

                                                                Fredricks is a Business studies and Economics teacher, with 18 years of experience at O Level/IGCSE and A Level. He graduated from Kyambogo University with an Advanced Diploma in Business studies with Education. He has taught in the Uganda National Curriculum and later moved to Rwanda and taught in the Rwandan National Curriculum as well as the Cambridge International Curriculum. He is a friendly, helpful and patient team member who takes pride in offering a great level of education to the learners. In his spare time, he loves playing chess and he enjoys volunteering in Rotaract Clubs and other community development activities.

                                                                Sophia Hendrickson

                                                                Sophia comes from the east of England, by the seaside.

                                                                Her teaching experience includes working with vulnerable teenagers in Liberia, running an English language school in Rwanda, and supporting children with physical and learning disabilities in Zambia.

                                                                Sophia’s teaching philosophy is simple: the student is the heart of every decision. She believes that a successful classroom is a diverse classroom and that there can be no learning without laughter.

                                                                In her spare time, she volunteers with RefuAid UK, providing one-on-one English language tuition to refugees.

                                                                Alveria Lukindu

                                                                Alveria is a highly motivated person, with a passion to improve the abilities of students with learning differences at different levels. She is dedicated to helping students maximise their efforts so as to get good results, and realise their full potential.

                                                                Veronica Nantumbwe

                                                                Veronica has previously worked at Gayaza Junior School and Ambrosoli International School as a librarian and learning assistant. She is passionate about books and at 7Hills she supports children in exploring the world of books and online reading resources that are a great source of knowledge, which open their minds to the world and encourages them to develop confidence. When not at school Veronica likes to read, bake and watch football.

                                                                Christine Wanyana

                                                                Christine was Captain of the Uganda Women’s Football National Team (She-Cranes) for 18 years. Christine is currently acting as the U-20 National Women’s Football Team Coach and is also a Fufa/Fifa coach instructor. Christine has worked both in Ugandan and International schools and loves working with children to develop their sporting skills and abilities. Passionate about sports especially football and volleyball she exudes Teamwork, discipline, respect and hard work.

                                                                Elly Muhereza

                                                                Elly holds a Bachelor’s degree in Science in Sports and Leisure Management from Kyambogo University. Elly has been involved in sports, fitness, and wellness for 10 years. He has worked as a fitness and wellness coach for institutions including UPDF, Multichoice Uganda, and has been a Sports Consultant for a number of International Schools in Uganda. Elly brings his passion for sports, fitness, wellness and nutrition to his role at 7Hills.

                                                                Parnaz Salmani Torghi

                                                                Parnaz’s role here will be to provide a safe space for the students to share and communicate any challenges, overwhelming feelings, anxieties, fears, or questions that they may have during this pivotal stage of their lives. She hopes that with a little bit of extra support, and the space to comfortably and safely explore what makes them who they are, students will be able to recognise their own resilience and identify healthy coping mechanisms that will serve them moving into adulthood.
